About

Kofiln, a spin-off from the University of Concepción, advances the development of sustainable copper processing technologies for the market. It is a leader in applied research, technology transfer and scientific-technological entrepreneurship in Chile. It has a portfolio of technology development in mining and metallurgy, with innovative approaches to the circular economy, low emissions and the recovery of valuable metals, including copper. These technologies, which use renewable or low-emissions hydrogen as a reductant agent, introduce a new paradigm in the copper value chain. They facilitate the development of an integrated industrial hub that combines mining, concentration, processing and refining in a single location.
