Reefgen’s mission is to design and produce a fleet of cost-effective, underwater tractors for restoration project developers that will unlock the cost-effective, massively-scalable underwater habitat restoration capacity required to build the regenerative blue economy. Reefgen started by building a robotic coral planter to demonstrate the potential of mechanized restoration tools. Reefgen’s programme has expanded beyond coral to include fielding seagrass seed and shoot planting systems, increasing its restoration and production capacity to include 13,000 gallons of seagrass nursery systems and by planting tens of thousands of eelgrass seeds. It has operations in North America, Europe and South-East Asia.
