Unsustainable resource management is a key driver of climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss, with everyday materials like plastics, textiles and food often lacking traceability across their lifecycle. This limits circularity, leading to waste, emissions and resource depletion, while challenges around data collection, interoperability and cost hinder scalable solutions.
Addressing these gaps requires innovative, data-driven approaches to enable traceability and unlock circular business models. The Circular Data and Traceability Challenge, launched by UpLink in collaboration with Accenture, called for solutions to improve supply chain transparency, generate new circular value and leverage emerging technologies to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable, circular economy.
