As global life expectancy rises, the population over 60 is set to reach 2.1 billion by 2050, placing increasing strain on financial systems and retirement savings. Many individuals risk outliving their savings by up to two decades, while longer lives do not always translate into better health, highlighting gaps in prevention and equitable access to care.
Addressing these challenges requires systemic innovation in financial resilience and preventative healthcare to support well-being across all life stages. The Prospering in Longevity Challenge, launched by UpLink in collaboration with the Forum’s Centre for Financial and Monetary Systems and Manulife, sought solutions to strengthen financial security and promote inclusive, preventative health approaches for longer, healthier lives.
