Quantum technologies are emerging as powerful tools to address global challenges, with the potential to accelerate progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. From optimizing energy systems to advancing materials design and drug discovery, quantum innovations can transform industries while improving resource efficiency and reducing emissions.
Realizing this potential requires accelerating early-stage innovation and scaling impactful applications across sectors. The Quantum for Society Challenge, launched by UpLink in collaboration with the Forum’s Quantum Economy Network and the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Saudi Arabia, sought solutions leveraging quantum technologies to drive sustainable impact across climate, healthcare, agriculture, materials and freshwater systems.
