# Water Resilience Challenge

Strengthening the adaptability, efficiency and long-term sustainability of water systems

## Overview

Water resilience is essential to economic stability, food security and public health as climate change, rising demand and worsening water stress threaten communities and industries. Data centres alone are projected to use more than 660 billion litres of water annually by 2027, while most natural disasters are water-related and key aquifers are rapidly depleting. Addressing these pressures requires systemic innovation across infrastructure, agri-food, tech and energy. The Water Resilience Challenge, in collaboration with the Forum's Food and Water Initiative and the HCL Group, sought solutions that strengthen infrastructure, promote sustainable agriculture and optimize water use in water-intensive sectors to build adaptable, integrated systems and secure water resources for the future.
